TWO Bradford nursery schools are officially 'outstanding' after receiving top marks from inspectors. 

Abbey Green Nursery School in Green Lane, Manningham, and Midland Road Nursery School in Bateman Street, Manningham, have both been given the top rating by Ofsted. 

Manningham Community Nursery Schools Federation is responsible for both settings. 

Executive headteacher Ginny Robinson said: "It is a real honour to work with such a skilled and committed federation team, who strive, on a daily basis, to improve outcomes for children. 

"It is difficult to express just what a privilege it is to work in the wonderful community of Manningham, a diverse and culturally rich part of Bradford.

"It is a pleasure to open the door every day and greet our lovely families, who have embraced our schools as a central part of the community. 

"I look forward to many more years of developing our federation so that we can continue to show the world how children can make exceptional progress and achieve highly when you provide consistency, high expectations and an unwavering devotion to understanding child development."

Gretl Young, chair of governors, added: "It's a well-deserved result of the sustained hard work and dedication of the whole team."

The report for Abbey Green said: "Abbey Green Nursery School provides an exceptional level of care for its children and their families. 

"Children thrive in this warm and nurturing nursery school. They are happy and safe. 

"Parents are overwhelmingly positive about the education that their children receive. They too feel valued and part of the community that leaders have created."

Midland Road's report said: "Midland Road Nursery School is a special place to be. 

"It is a school for everyone, where leaders and staff know children and their families exceptionally well. 

"Children flourish in a calm, purposeful and high-quality learning environment."

Referring to both schools, the reports said: "Staff at both schools have an exceptional understanding of the starting points that children have. 

"They have designed a highly ambitious curriculum for all children across both nursery school communities.

"Staff are knowledgeable about child development and how learning builds over time.

"They work skilfully with children within the stimulating learning environment to build on their knowledge. 

"Staff ensure that the provision and their teaching are carefully adapted to meet the needs of all children. 

"As a result, children at both schools are exceptionally well prepared for the next stage of their education."
