A BRADFORD district shop manager has been shortlisted for a 'Store Hero' award.

Simon Seary, who works at bp Rankin in Bingley, is shortlisted for the gong at the prestigious 2024 Retail Week Awards.

The award celebrates a standout store manager across the UK retail industry.

Ninety-four per cent of customers surveyed reported they were satisfied or very satisfied with their shopping experience at Simon’s store.

Jo Hall, UK retail operations director at bp, said: “We are thrilled Simon was shortlisted for the Store Hero Award, a well-deserved recognition of his inspiring leadership and dedication.”

Simon said: “I am honoured to have been shortlisted for the Store Hero Award. It’s a testament to my incredible team and their commitment to delivering outstanding customer service every day.”

Simon’s commitment to exceptional customer service includes having his team help customers who find it challenging to shop.

His team regularly assists a blind customer who calls ahead with a shopping list so they can check items are in stock before packing them up and bringing them out to the customer when they arrive in a taxi.

Simon has also kept staff turnover exceptionally low - most of his team that joined bp Rankin before it opened six years ago are still working behind the tills.
