A BRADFORD care home is celebrating a remarkable jump in its rating following an inspection from the health and social care watchdog.

Rose Cottage, on Kipping Lane in Thornton, was rated 'inadequate' and put into special measures by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in July 2023.

But now the care home, which supports adults - some with dementia or physical disabilities - has jumped up two ratings to 'good'.

Inspectors found they were now clear about their roles and understanding quality performance.

The report said: "Recruitment processes had been improved and were safe and robust. Staff had received all the necessary training to do their jobs safely and effectively."

The inspection was carried out by two inspectors, a medicines inspector and an Expert by Experience.

They spoke with five people who used the service and five relatives about their experience of the care provided.

They also talked to eight staff including the manager and care workers.
