A MAN has been left with serious injuries following a crash in a supermarket car park.

West Yorkshire Police was called to reports of a crash between a pedestrian and a vehicle at Waitrose, in Westgate, Otley

The incident took place around 11.18am on Sunday, January 15.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service was already at the scene.

The pedestrian, a man in his sixties, was involved in a collision with a Ford Ranger pick-up truck. 

He received serious injuries and was taken to hospital. 

The man is in a stable condition, according to a police spokesperson.

The driver was interviewed by voluntary attendance and enquiries remain ongoing.

A police spokesperson said: "At 11.18am yesterday, police were contacted by the ambulance service reporting a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian in the car park of the Waitrose supermarket, in Westgate, Otley. 

"The pedestrian, a man in his sixties, had been involved in a collision with a Ford Ranger pick-up truck.

"He received serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment and is in a stable condition. 

"The driver was interviewed by voluntary attendance and enquiries are ongoing into the incident."
