NEW research from global mentoring provider PushFar has revealed the reality of job hunting in 2024, as Bradford is revealed to have just 1,340 job vacancies for the population of 546,400 people.

This paints a bleak picture as the availability of jobs per person in Bradford has seen a further decline of 49.5 per cent when contrasted with January 2023 which saw one vacancy per 206 people.

Google searches for ‘new job’ spike in January every year, as people look to revamp their careers.

January 7 is also recognised as one of the most popular days for people to look for a new role.

In January 2023, PushFar saw a 39 per cent increase in traffic with people eager to upskill and get careers advice, and Ed Johnson, CEO of PushFar, says their data is already showing an increase for 2024.

With the job market becoming increasingly competitive, Mr Johnson advises speaking to a mentor to stand out against other applicants.
