TWO teams of eight firefighters fought a dramatic car fire on the M62 last night.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) was called to the scene of a Range Rover on fire near the Brighouse junction of the M62 at 7.26pm on Saturday.

Pictures on social media showed flames shooting up from the vehicle and smoke rising in the air.

But the fire service reported no one was injured.

A spokesperson for WYFRS said: “We were contacted by a member of the public last night following reports of a vehicle on fire on the M62 Junction 25 westbound.

"The call came in at 7:26pm with eight firefighters from crews at Huddersfield and Rastrick on the scene by 7:34pm.

"No people were reported in the vehicle and crews extinguished the fire, leaving the scene just after 8pm.”
