A ONCE-thriving Bradford social club that fell on hard times has reopened after an extensive refurbishment.
"Little Horton Unity Club has recently been given a new lease of life," said events manager Ellen Boyle.
"This once-thriving social club has suffered as many such venues have over the past few years.
"Dwindling memberships, issues with the upkeep of the actual building were factors that contributed to a decline in the fortunes of this once very popular venue.
"In February the club opened its doors again after a superb refurbishment.
"The interest from former members has been amazing. There is now a waiting list to become a member.
"The club's fortunes have had a phenomenal turnaround and the club has kept its core values.
She said the club, which is based on Spicer Street, hosts live entertainment and popular Bingo sessions.
"There will be a lot of other events that are community-oriented," said Ellen.
These include an upcoming Classic Car Show and a record fair that runs from 10am to 5.30pm on April 15.
