Czajka Care Group has organised some ‘blooming marvellous’ events and activities this month.
Starting off the month, residents from Fairmount Nursing Home and Brookfield Care Home in Nab Wood all had a great day out at Tong Garden Centre. After indulging in lots of retail therapy, they all enjoyed a lovely lunch in the acclaimed café.
Konrad Czajka, managing director at Czajka Care Group, said: “Despite the Arctic blast and snow, we have taken advantage of the warmer days with trips out into our local communities. Our older residents particularly enjoy trips to the local garden centres and our younger residents, who live with us at our special home, Staveley Birkleas, had a great meal out at the Aagrah as well as regular theatre, cinema and bowling trips.
“As well as our outings, our wonderful activities coordinators organise and run a huge range of interesting and fun activities on a daily basis for all of our residents. At Beanlands Nursing Home in Cross Hills, they regularly have afternoons full of fun and games playing a giant floor quiz game, Connect 4 and dominoes, which is always followed by a nice of cup of tea after all the competition! Our residents at Beanlands were also in strong voice when Carol from Cats Pyjamas came to perform her fabulous live music and entertainment show this month.
“We have also enjoyed plenty of birthday celebrations. This month we organised cakes and a party for 91-year-old Lena who lives with us in our Brookfield Care home in Nab Wood, for Ambrose who is 95 years young and loving life at our Beanlands Nursing Home in Cross Hills and for three of our lovely residents at Brookfield Care Home in Nab Wood - Olga who is 98, Joyce B who is 96 and Joan who is 89.
“As always, we marked Mother’s Day by making wonderful cards, floral decorations and enjoyed a lovely lunch across all five of our homes, which was prepared by our talented team of chefs. We are looking forward to being outside even more as we enter Spring, and our residents can’t wait to get into our grounds and help with the planting of our pots and specially raised accessible beds.”
