Farsley Celtic have begun their squad strengthening for next season with the signing of former City midfielder Tom Penford.

Several more arrivals are expected now that the club know for sure which division they are playing following last weekend's Conference League AGM.

They finished third from bottom in the Blue Square Premier last term but their relegation to the North Division was not rubber-stamped until the league meeting because of situations at other clubs.

"Our management team of John Deacey and Neil Parsley are now very busy signing players, from the retained list and newcomers, and organising all manner of other things," said Celts chairman Andy Firbank.

"The pair of them are working together looking at the scheduling of the friendly fixtures we have in the pipeline and structuring the squad.

"As far as the board is concerned, we have come up with a new category of season ticket for 14 to 18-year-olds and they, like the rest of our season tickets, are now available."

The main deal is the parent and child' ticket which allows anyone purchasing a season ticket for £150 a children's (under-14s) season ticket free of charge.

The 14 to 18 age group will be offered a season ticket at the same price as students and pensioners, which at £75 is half price.

All of the deals run until the last day of the month and a passport photo as well as proof of age (for the concessions tickets) will be required when purchasing.

Firbank added: "A parent and child ticket means they can both see every game in the Blue Square North for the equivalent of £8, while it would cost £15 if they were to pay at the gate. We think that represents fantastic value."

Match-day prices at Throstle Nest will remain the same as last season: standing £10, £12 if seated, with concessions £5 and £6 respectively.
