The smash-hit musical is back! Showcased this last week at the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford, Rock of Ages is a hilarious musical comedy. It featured all your favourite 80’s hits, including: Don’t Stop Believing, The Final Countdown, Here I Go Again, Nothin’ But A Good Time, I Want To Know What Love Is, I Wanna Rock, We’re Not Gonna Take It, We Built This City and many more. This musical teleported you back to 1980’s Sunset Strip for one last farewell tour.

This five-time Tony Award-nominated musical tells the story of a small-town girl named Sherrie Christian, a city boy named Drew Boley, and a rock 'n' roll romance on the Sunset Strip. But when the bar where rock reigns supreme is set to be demolished by father and son Hertz Klineman and Franz Klineman, it's up to these wannabe rockers and their band of friends to save the day – and the music.

This musical starred Kevin Kennedy as Bourbon Room owner Dennis Dupree, Gabriella Williams as Sherrie, Sam Turrel as Drew and Tim Oxbrow as Lonny Barnet. Each and every actor captivated the audience and sang their hearts out when it came to the astounding music. Each character had a costume which perfectly presented their personalities and for some their journeys throughout the show.

Between the two acts, there was an intermission which gave the audience the opportunity to buy a  refreshing drink from the bar and share their thoughts on the show. Audience member Claire Peacock stated: “I have really enjoyed all the singing and dancing so far. The story is amazing and I can’t wait for the next act!”

But, when the second act was due to begin, the production underwent some technical difficulties and was delayed. However, they were soon fixed and the audience were able to enjoy the rest of the performance.

Rock of Ages is a stunning theatre production, perfect for anyone who enjoys rock music, a touch of comedy and romance. It is a high energy performance that will put a smile on your face, make you laugh and feel like dancing.
