A NEW mixed ability football team has been set up in Skipton - thanks to a grant from the Two Ridings Community Foundation.
Run by Skipton Juniors Football Club, based at Sandylands Sports Centre, it is described as a 'dedicated and enthusiastic football coaching opportunity for young people and adults of all capabilities'.'
Team members also benefit from the vast experience of sports coach, Ji Mukerjee, who with his coaching of mixed ability sports has been helping teenagers, young people and adults reach their full potential. The doors are now open for more, aged 13 years old and over, to join the new and evolving team, learn new skills, get fit and make new friends along the way.
Ji said: 'We have so far welcomed about14 players to this newly created squad to enable people with a range of abilities to play the great game. With help from some parents, the training has been intense but fun, and the game brings out the best skills in all of us."
The team trains on Mondays, from 4pm to 5pm on the artificial turf pitch at Sandylands Sports Centre, off Engine Shed Lane, and is open to all over 13 years old. Parents and carers are welcome along to offer support. £3 per session, with the first session free. For more details, email: sportscoachjm@yahoo.co.uk
