JUST look at Skipton High Street in this picture taken in the early part of the 1960s.
Many will remember Bradford based department store, Brown, Muff's, which was eventually taken over by Rackham's House of Fraser, then Sports Direct before closing in December, 2021.
Brown Muff's took over the former Ambler's store in Skipton in 1961 and after a brief couple of days of ‘minor adjustments’ reopened as Brown, Muff’s.
Interesting to see the cars parked on the setts, and a polite sign reserving parking for customers of Brown, Muff's only.
