Emergency work to repair a gas main in Bradford is set to go into next week.
Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out essential mains repair work on Sticker Lane and Fenby Avenue.
A gas main outside a property on the major route was damaged during water leak repairs late on Wednesday night.
It needs to be fixed immediately, a spokesperson for NGN confirmed.
The work requires a deep excavation and, in order to ensure the safety of NGN’s teams and the public, it has been necessary to close one lane of the road.
A fully signed diversion has been put in place.
This is a complex job which is likely to carry on over the weekend and into next week, NGN confirmed.
Residents and businesses will be kept informed of developments.
