A POPULAR energy drink pushed by two well-known internet personalities – which some have spent thousands on – has been a hot topic of late.

Some have gone above and beyond to get their hands on Prime, by YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul, which is becoming harder to find as demand increases.

Recently, a shop in Wakefield hit the headlines for advertising cans of the drink for £100. A group of lads reportedly travelled over 200 miles from Edinburgh to Wakey Wines for it.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Another visitor travelled a much shorter distance to the West Yorkshire shop – an eight-mile round trip – but spent an astonishing £1,000 on packs of Prime as a Christmas present for his sons.

In Bradford, however, Prime is a little easier – and cheaper – to come by.

North Parade leisure venue GG Gaming is giving the drink away as part of a package which will set you back £10.

Its founder, Awais Hussain, told us more.

“My offer is that, if you book a minimum of one hour at GG Gaming – which is £10 – you get a free bottle of Prime Hydration, any flavour,” he said.

“Prime is scarce. It’s out of stock in most places and the prices are going up, which is unfortunate, as most people won’t be able to afford it.

“It is one of the most unique drinks, though. There’s nothing really like it, it’s been made to beat every other drink on the market.”

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

There have been reports of people buying Prime and reselling it a higher price, while Bowling Park Primary School in Bradford recently sent out a warning about the drink to parents.

The school tweeted to say that, on two occasions in recent weeks, pupils had brought a bottle of the drink into school.

Bowling Park added that Prime is stronger than other energy drinks and is equivalent to drinking “five cups” of coffee.

Prime Hydration, the version of the drink GG Gaming is offering, is caffeine-free, however – in contrast to Prime Energy.

Awais noted that, due to KSI’s and Logan Paul’s popularity among gamers, the drink may be particularly appealing to his customers.

“There’s a link there, KSI and Logan Paul are big gamers themselves, so people who come here can relate to that,” he said.

Awais cited the economic crisis as a reason behind his decision to give the drink away.

“I grew up quite deprived and wouldn’t have been able to afford this, so I’m doing this for the people missing out,” he said.

“We’ve also slashed our prices by 25 per cent – during the cost of living crisis a lot of people have risen their prices, but we’ve knocked ours down.

“I want people in Bradford to still enjoy games and leisure.”
