The opening of the Ilkley Lido for the summer will be marked with a free Wet n Wild party on Saturday.

And to officially open the lido season, Ilkley's Great Britain Olympic swimming hopeful Sian Morgan will be making the first splash of the summer.

The Wet n Wild session will give visitors a chance to enjoy fun in the pool with sponges, rubber rings, water guns, family fun events, and inflatables.

There will also be activities and games held in the pool as well as free Passport to Leisure sign-ups when it normally costs £2.20 for adults and £1.10 for under 16s, as well as face painting and the opportunity to tackle a climbing wall that is being brought in for the weekend.

The Council's Leisure Services is also offering a special offer from Saturday, May 24 until Sunday, June 1, allowing up to two youngsters the chance to swim for free at Council-owned pools when accompanied with an adult.

There is also a wide range of fun leisure activities taking place over the Spring Bank holiday period too, including basketball coaching, football camps, cycling, fitcraft, futsal, gymnastics, dancing, aerobics, multi-sports camps, Shokk/Clubactive gyms, trampolining and racquet sports.
