SUPPORTERS of Manorlands Hospice are invited to take part in the Settle Loop Challenge - a ten mile circular loop with stunning views above the market town.

And new for this year, there is also the 26-mile 3 Dales Marathon on the same day - with runners and mountain bikers taking a route across the three dales of the Ribble, the Aire and the Wharfe.

Both challenges are organised by the Settle Manorlands Support Group, will take place on Saturday, October 22 and will start and finish at North Ribblesdale RUFC, Settle.

Last year, the Settle Loop Challenge raised £6,500. Back for a fourth year, it is also open to walkers, runners and mountain bikers.

Long-time sponsor of the Settle Loop Challenge, Settle’s Castleberg Outdoors, is back once more to support the event. This year it will be joined by dairy company Arla Foods and All Terrain Cycles.

Kirsty Kilburn, member of the Settle fundraising group, said: “We are so excited to be holding the Settle Loop Challenge again and welcoming the brand new 3 Dales Marathon. For any of our previous entrants that are looking for more of a challenge, the marathon is sure to provide this, with views just as stunning as the Settle Loop Challenge.

"After raising £6,000 in 2019 and £6,500 in 2021, we are hopeful to beat last year’s target to raise even more for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice. Many thanks to our incredible sponsors – Castleberg Outdoors, Arla Foods and All Terrain Cycles for their support.”

All proceeds from the two events will support Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice to continue providing expert compassionate care, advice and support for people across Wharfedale, Airedale, Bradford and Craven who are living with life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their families.
