People who have made the difference by building bridges between communities will be honoured at an awards ceremony at Bradford City Hall.

A shortlist of nominees has been whittled down by judges of this year's Community Harmony Awards.

Backed by the Telegraph & Argus, the Bradford Council awards recognise community champions in six different categories.

The awards ceremony on April 16 will celebrate winners of the individual, lifetime achievement, services to a community, business, employee and organisation categories.

Organiser Mohammed Ayyaz said: "We've been looking for people that give us something different, who do something extra to bring communities together."

The judging panel comprised of The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Robin Owens, the regional development manager of Newsquest, Linda Ralph, Professor Uduak Archibong of Bradford University and Umar Hayat of Bradford Trident.
