When Peter Trueman ducked behind a bush, police suspected him of buying drugs, magistrates were told today.
Trueman, of Hall Lane, Shipley, addmitted at Bingley court to possessing diamorphine, a controlled class A drug, in Thackley Old Road, Shipley, on August 8.
The bench was told the drug, valued at about £15, was found by officers hidden in his mouth and knotted in a plastic bag.
The 41-year-old told them he was drug-dependent and used about £20-worth a day.
Erica Topham, for Trueman, said he was taking treatment for his drug problem and did charity work for the British Heart Foudnation.
He was conditionally discharged for 12 months.
