Trumpet players are being urged to join Skipton's Royal British Legion Band.
The band, which was formed just two years ago, is keen to expand into a full military-style marching band.
But the band, which wants to present a more impressive front at town occasions, such as Remembrance Sunday, needs woodwind and brass players.
Tim Clarke, band secretary, said: "We would like the current drum and bugle corps to be incorporated into a full military band for our most important events as we feel the Royal British Legion should be represented by the best band it can raise for these ceremonial occasions, including Remembrance Sunday."
He said although drummers and buglers would still be welcome, they wanted to expand to provide more options for the band.
"We are therefore looking for players of woodwind instruments, especially clarinet and flute, and all brass instruments, including non-brass instruments such as trumpet and French horn, so that we can offer a full military style marching band."
Mr Clarke said the band was particularly keen to attract younger players to give them a new experience.
Anyone interested should attend a practice and information event due to be held at the music department, Erymsted's Grammar School, Skipton, on Tuesday from 7.30pm.
