WEST YORKSHIRE Police took to Twitter to vent after someone dialed 999 this morning to report that a bird was stuck in their oven.
The Force’s Contact Management Centre said “well, you can’t make this up!”, before humorously adding that the bird “wasn’t for a Sunday roast”.
Police would like to remind the public that 999 is only for genuine emergencies, and calling the number for anything else is likely to waste police time and is strongly discouraged.
