Police are warning women not to walk on their own after two muggings within days in Nab Wood, Bradford.
The latest incident happened at 3pm on Wednesday in Moorhead Terrace as the woman victim in her 60s was walking to a friend's house.
The suspect dragged her to the ground and pulled at her handbag but the pensioner clung on, screamed for help and kicked out at him.
The mugger punched her in the side of the face, causing minor injuries, and she let go. The suspect fled with the bag, containing £45 and bank cards.
The attacker was described as a skinny white man, aged between 25 and 35, unshaven, 5ft 8ins tall, with short dark hair. He was wearing a black shiny jacket, dark trousers and possibly a woolly hat.
The earlier attack happened on Saturday at 1.30pm in New Close Road when a 68-year-old woman was also attacked from behind by a man. She was pulled to the ground as the robber snatched her bag. She was uninjured but badly shaken.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Paul Harrison, of Keighley CID, on 0845 6060606, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
