A protected weeping willow is to be sacrificed to make way for five houses.
Bradford planners are set to approve the construction of the new homes on the site of Silsden Methodist Chapel, in Kirkgate.
The area includes a number of mature trees and a weeping willow which has a tree preservation order.
A planning spokesman said: "The loss of the protected tree is acceptable due to the positive contribution the plan will have to Silsden conservation area and community as a whole."
