Heavy overnight rain has caused traffic chaos on Canal Road in Bradford this morning.
Water is about a foot deep on the inbound carriageway, and the road has been closed between Queens Road bridge and the end of Kings Road.
A police spokesman said the road would be closed "for the foreseeable future".
The River Calder burst its banks, forcing the temporary closure of the A646 between Todmorden and Mytholmroyd.
The road was re-opened at 5.45am today.
Levels on the rivers Calder and Colne have prompted flood warnings while the Wharfe and Aire are on flood watch.
