Young eco-campaigners from two Bradford secondary schools came together to explore practical responses to some of the threats facing the world today.
Pupils from Belle Vue Girls' School met peers at Bradford Grammar School at an event believed to be the first of its kind in the district. The Environment In The Round conference explored issues including global warming, recycling and energy conservation.
Claire Foster and David Shreeve, from green action group Environmental Dimension, presented pupils with a Millennium Yew tree as a living symbol of our responsibility to future generations to protect the globe.
Kelvin Ravenscroft, head of religious studies at Bradford Grammar and event organiser, said: "The conference looked at practical ways we can address the environmental challenges of today, and, unusually how the spiritual dimension of life can inform these decisions. "
