Brendan Cummins, pictured, has taken over as chief executive at Ciba Speciality Chem-icals which has its largest site at Low Moor, Bradford.
He replaces Armin Meyer, previously chairman and chief executive, who is focusing on the role of chairman.
Swiss group Ciba Speciality Chemicals employs 800 people at Low Moor making chemicals used in papermaking, mining, oil extraction, wastewater treatment and textile processing.
Mr Meyer, who was previously chairman and chief executive, is to focus on the role of chairman.
Mr Cummins has been chief operating officer of Ciba since October, 2005.
