A man who seriously injured a woman in a strangling attack near Bradford Forster Square Station has been further remanded in custody to assess how dangerous he is.
Ladislav Kovac, 20, of Branwell Court, Daisy Hill, Bradford, denied attempting to murder Karena Priest on July 6 last year.
But at Bradford Crown Court yesterday he pleaded guilty to wounding her with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
His plea, on the day his trial was due to start, was accepted by the Honorary Recorder of Bradford Judge Stephen Gullick.
Kovac's barrister, Tahir Khan, asked for sentence to be adjourned for a probation report. He said Kovac had pleaded guilty to a very serious offence and the court would be concerned about whether he represented a risk to the public.
Judge Gullick will sentence Kovac on February 7.
He said the probation service would advise him on the extent Kovac represented a danger to the public.
The court was told at an earlier hearing that the attack took place in Midland Road, near the station.
The victim, in her mid 20s, was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary but later discharged herself after treatment.
