The pair have been named as Abdul Farid and 14-year-old son Raees.
Mr Farid, 41, worked at Ace Budget Taxis on Thornton Road.
This morning, the firm paid tribute to him. They said he had gone on a family holiday two weeks ago and was due to come back today.
He had worked at the firm for around 20 years. It's understood he was originally from the Duckworth Terrace area, but moved to Shipley with his family a few years ago.
They described him as a "fantastic and humble, brilliant family man".
"We are getting calls from customers to send their condolences," they said.
"Everyone is devastated. Even the community around the base - customers are devastated.
"It's just a great loss to society in the whole. He was an absolutely fantastic person. It's just a great loss for the community.
"We can only just imagine what everyone else is going through."
The firm said he would always go out of his way to help people.
Bingley Juniors AFC has also paid tribute.
In a statement, the club said: "It's with a heavy heart that the club unfortunately needs to announce the passing of Raess and his father Abdul who tragically were involved in a car accident earlier today.
"Raess was a member of our U14s and has been with the club for a number of years. A great sportsman and top boy who will be greatly missed.
