A LAW firm with offices in Bradford has renewed its commitment to the city by signing a ten-year lease on a 9,000 sq ft office in the city centre.

Gordons, which is currently based in premises in Duke Street, will be moving its entire operations from that site to new Grade A office space on the ground floor of One St James Business Park in New Augustus Street, next to the A650.

The move will take place in November, and in the interim the interior design of the office is being renovated for a six-figure sum to create an open-plan working environment.

The new office will be similar in layout to the firm’s offices in nearby Leeds.

Gordons employs 200 people, with half of those based in Bradford, and has been a part of the district’s business community since the firm was founded 174 years ago.

The firm represents some of Bradford’s most high-profile and well-known businesses, such as supermarket giant Morrisons, motor retailer JCT600, and fashion retailer Grattan.

Gordons also represents firms including Iceland, Wren Kitchens, and Molson Coors, which produces beers such as Carling, Coors Light, and Worthington’s.

Victoria Davey, Gordons partner and head of operations, said: “Bradford is an important part of our heritage.

“We remain totally committed to continuing to grow our business in the city and the talent pool available to us here.

“We redesigned our Leeds office last year and the end result is an enhanced environment which improves everybody’s working day, boosts our productivity even further and fosters greater collaboration, all of which ultimately benefit our clients.

“We are applying the same intelligent design thinking to our new Bradford office to enable us to achieve the same outcomes.”

Kersten England, chief executive of Bradford Council, added: “Gordons’ continued commitment to Bradford is great news for the city and wider district.

“The firm is a mainstay of the business community and its people have always helped promote Bradford regionally, nationally and internationally.”

Gordons said the new office will create “an innovative working environment designed to further enhance interaction, problem solving and team work”.

As well as the integral working space, the new offices will also include breakout spaces to allow people to work away from their desks, and a relaxation area to allow staff to destress and unwind while at work.
