A HOME improvement business has closed down its offices amid rumours it has gone bust.

The Telegraph & Argus has been contacted by several disgruntled customers of Virgo Home Improvements, claiming the company has failed to honour appointments and not returned their calls about work which requires further attention.

When a reporter turned up to the offices in Caledonia Street, two men were seen carrying stock from a vending machine and only three employees were inside the main office.

One man said he could not comment on the rumours and said any information would be provided by the firm's managing director.

John Slater, from Allerton, said he paid £10,000 for a garage.

He claims the structure has needed repairing for the last two months and has been making attempts to get help from Virgo Home Improvements.

"A side door needs re-doing and because it has dropped and doesn't shut.

"I also have a window inside which has split from side to side.

"There's nothing online to tell people what's going on."

Another customer, Anthony Milner, from Southport, said the company has failed to honour appointments he made with them to come and fix faulty work.

He added: "They came and did some fascias and guttering, but after some high winds they blew off.

"Someone eventually came out to take pictures, but I didn't hear anything for three days and when I did they said the person was on holiday.

"They were supposed to come round on June 12, but nobody turned up and told me they would be there on July 17, but nobody was."

The Telegraph & Argus has approached the company for a comment.
