A PUBLIC consultation into the services offered by Bradford Council’s Safeguarding Adults Board is now open.

The board is in the process of writing its new strategic plan for the next three years, which will explain how they will work in the future to keep people safe.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Portfolio Holder for Healthy People and Places said: “This is the first time the Bradford Safeguarding Adults Board have gone out to consultation on the plan and its crucial that people feedback with ideas and views so that together we can help shape the safeguarding plan for Bradford. Safeguarding is everyone’s business and it is important that we all play a part in protecting people, preventing any form of abuse from taking place and making sure we all feel safe in society.”

Jane Geraghty, Chair of Bradford Safeguarding Adults Board said: “Having just taken on the role as the Independent Chair of Bradford Safeguarding Adults Board, I am delighted to be joining at a critical point when we are developing our three year plan.

“I am looking forward to hearing the views and responding to people in our communities about what is important to them in order to keep themselves safe.

"This consultation is opened to everyone including partner agencies, staff across all organisations and sectors, people who use services, carers, community groups and the wider public.

If you feel you would like to give your ideas and thoughts back as a group instead of individually then the consultation does accept this."

The consultation has begun and will end on July 27.
