FUNDING has been approved for more schemes to support economic growth, job creation and transport improvements across the Leeds City Region, which includes Bradford.
The West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) approved the initial allocation of £130 million Growth Deal funding for an additional ten schemes.
Since 2015, £335 million of Growth Deal investment has been committed by the WYCA and the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership, helping kick-start housing, regeneration and transport schemes.
Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe, Leader of Bradford Council and WYCA Chair (pictured) said the impact of the overall £1 billion deal with the Government is becoming "increasingly visible".
She added: "With only three more years of Growth Deal funding left however, we will continue to press Government for a mayoral devolution deal and long-term funding settlement post-Brexit so that there is no let-up in badly needed investment in the City Region.”
