A NURSERY in Woodside has retained its ‘Good’ rating following a recent inspection.
Strawberries Private Day Nursery, pictured, based in Eaglesfield Drive, was awarded the rating by Ofsted following an inspection earlier this month.
It means the nursery retains the rating it received at a previous inspection in 2014.
In the report, Ofsted praised the nursery for including parents’ views in identifying areas of improvement, and praised staff for “understanding how children learn and develop” and providing “stimulating and challenging activities”.
It said children are “relaxed, secure, well behaved and play happily together”, and staff are caring and know each children’s individual personalities.
To become ‘Outstanding’, Ofsted said the nursery needs to be consistently rigorous in assessing children’s progress, and areas of staff training could be better focused.
