A BRADFORD pub reopened at the weekend after a six-figure refurbishment, just in time for the upcoming World Cup.

The Angel, on Northgate in Baildon, closed for the makeover on May 29 and, after just over a week of work, opened to the public again last Friday evening.

The pub, owned by Greene King which is rolling out a number of refurbs across its pubs, has seen its bar area completely transformed, as well as the introduction of a lighter colour scheme.

There is also now a wider selection of local and national ales, as well as world beers.

The opening coincides with a new menu and punters will be able to get their hands on Greene King’s signature Yorkie Wrap – roast beef wrapped in a Yorkshire Pudding with lashings of gravy.

Stephen Winrow, General Manager at the Angel said: “The Angel is at the heart of the Baildon community, so we are excited to be able to offer a place where locals can enjoy a drink or meal in enhanced surroundings.

“The opening was a real success, with great feedback from guests on the delicious menu and the fantastic interior. We look forward to welcoming more guests in the coming weeks!”
