KEIGHLEY PEOPLE are being urged to put their best foot forward to raise money for a children’s hospice.
Martin House is staging its first-ever Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk, on Saturday, June 23.
Experienced guides will be on hand as participants tackle the 24-mile route, which takes in Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.
There will be three ‘stop stations’, offering drinks and refreshments.
Entry to the event costs £30 and each walker is asked to raise at least £125 in sponsorship. There is a minimum age of 18.
Ellie Barker, a fundraiser at the Boston Spa hospice, said: “This is an exciting challenge, which gives people the chance to take in some of Yorkshire’s most breathtaking scenery whilst raising vital funds for Martin House.
“It costs us £8 million a year to support families, so every penny raised makes a huge difference.”
