THE Friends of Baildon Station (FOBS) group’s annual meeting is to take place tomorrow evening after a year of tangible improvements at the station itself.

The AGM takes place this Tuesday May 1st at 7pm in the Baildon Sports and Rugby Club, Jenny Lane.

Improvements over the last year at the station have been important both for aesthetics and customer happiness.

Some examples include: a new passenger shelter, a more frequent Sunday service with better connections at Shipley, and a grant from Northern to help support Baildon Station in Bloom.

This year's AGM will offer the community the chance to discuss current progress and possible plans for the future.

John Bowdery, Chair of FOBS, said: "There are 270,000 footfalls a year on Baildon station. We need the support of those train users to campaign for further improvements to train services and the station.”

Baildon Council will be in support of the event again this year after funding last year’s AGM.

Refreshments will be available from the bar at the location, as well as a raffle to win family travel tickets.
