PLANS to build 27 homes on a patch of land in Heaton were approved unanimously at yesterday’s Regulatory and Appeals Committee meeting.
The houses can now be built, subject to a section 106 agreement being signed, at Ashwell Farm in Ashwell Road, Heaton, behind Heaton St Barnabas Primary School.
A housing plan on the land had previously been approved but the permission had run out.
Worries were raised around loss of trees and some land being contaminated, but councillors approved the plans unanimously.
The agent for the application said the development is in a “sustainable location”, and the applicants “will be happy to sign” a section 106 agreement.
