TV presenter Helen Skelton visited Bradford College to train for her Sport Relief celebrity boxing match.
The college’s boxing coach Mally McIver, who trains Bradford boxing star Harris Akbar, helped Helen at the college’s boxing club.
Mr McIver said Helen was great with the girls at the boxing club and added that her hard work was a “credit to Sport Relief.”
The coach was also due to be in Helen’s corner for her celebrity match-up with Love Island star Camilla Thurlow, but due to unforeseen circumstances he went to the fight as a spectator instead. He believed she had a good chance as “she’s quite fit and athletic.”
The fight, which actually takes place tonight, is to be broadcast on BBC’s Sport Relief coverage tomorrow evening.
Ex-Bradford College student and now England boxer, Jade Ashmore, also helped the presenter by sparring with her.
Mr. McIver added that Ms Ashmore had done a lot of the work with Helen and he said it had made the presenter “realise how tough boxing is” but that “she really enjoyed it.”
