A MAN has been arrested following the raid on a shop in Allerton which ripped off the store front.
Raiders targeted the Your Local store in Saffron Drive on Tuesday night, using a 4x4 to drag the cash machine out of the store, ripping the shop front off in the process.
Shop owner Pramode Triveri labelled the culprits "cowards", and said: "I'm very upset. This is my livelihood, I can't go anywhere from here."
Councillor Bev Mullaney described the scene as "total devastation" and neighbours and members of the local community banded round the shop owner to help with the clear-up operation.
A police spokesperson said a 27-year-old man was been arresting on suspicion of burglary in connection with the raid.
