A KEY Council meeting that would have decided on a number of major developments has been postponed due to the snow.

Bradford Council's Regulatory and Appeals Committee was due to be held at 10am today in City Hall.

However, earlier this morning Chair of the Committee Councillor David Wharburton made the call to cancel the meeting due to treacherous driving conditions around the district that would make it difficult for members of the public, and committee members to make the meeting.

The meeting will be postponed to a future date.

The committee was due to make decisions on plans for a development of over 160 flats on a car park on Grammar School Street, off Hamm Strasse in Bradford City Centre, a major extension of Keighley Industrial Park, a development of 27 houses at Ashwell Farm in Heaton and a development of 30 houses on Flockton Road, East Bowling.

Last week snow led to the cancellation of a meeting of a Licensing Committee that was due to decide the fate of two Bradford shops accused of selling illegal cigarettes. The meeting has yet to be rescheduled.
