Police seized another six vehicles in Bradford today as Operation Steerside continues.

The first confiscation came this morning in the West Bowling area of the city and involved an uninsured Peugeot.

Police tweeted: “Operation Steerside continues in Bradford today. First vehicle stopped = seized. No insurance.”

An hour later, officers from the roads policing unit spotted a vehicle travelling “at speed” on Beckside Road in Bradford.

The driver failed to stop when requested to do so and, a few minutes later, the car was abandoned.

The driver ran off, but left behind class B drugs, which police said were “clearly marked up for delivery.”

The day’s other vehicle seizures included a foreign registered Skoda, which was driven by a UK resident but was not registered with the DVLA and was not taxed either.

Operation Steerside was launched in response to growing concern about driving standards in Bradford and was partly inspired by the Telegraph & Argus ‘Stop the Danger Drivers’ campaign.
