TALENTED youngsters from schools across the district have taken to the stage as part of this year’s Bradford Festival of Talent.

The competition is aimed at all primary and secondary schools across Bradford.

The annual event was started by former Lady Mayoress Elizabeth Sharp in 2015.

Then known as the Lady Mayoress’ Festival of Talent, the contest was started as a way for pupils to express themselves and show off their skills in a variety of fields outside the classroom. The first semi-final was held last Friday, an event Mrs Sharp described as “amazing”, with entrants from Byron Primary School and St John’s CE Primary School, going through to next month’s final.

She said: “I wanted to provide every child in the district with a platform - that’s what it is.”

The secondary semi-final will be held on Friday at 6pm at Bradford Academy. Tickets are free of charge and are available from www.bradfordacademy.co.uk.
