YOUNGSTERS at an Idle nursery donated nearly £1,200 to a cancer charity.
The children of Wesley House Private Day Nursery and Pre-school, Cross Road, raised £1,185 for Cancer Research UK with a Race for Life event at Idle Recreation Ground.
Charlotte Hargreaves, Wesley House Deputy Manager, said: “We put lots of emphasis on outdoor activities at Wesley House, so we knew our little ones were up for the challenge of running around the park next to our nursery. Our amazing parents helped us to spread the word and collect funds, which led to us raising this fantastic amount.
“We’re so proud of our children and their families for the effort they put into our fundraiser, and we’re delighted to help Cancer Research UK carry out their invaluable work.”
Andy Jackson from Cancer Research UK visited the nursery to collect the cheque and present the children with a certificate.
Local Cancer Research Fundraiser Rachel Speight-McGregor described Wesley House’s efforts as “absolutely amazing”.
