CAR owners in Bradford South are being warned to keep their cars locked and valuables out of sight following a series of thefts.
Bradford South Police have said there has been an in increase in reports of thefts from vehicles in and around Buttershaw, Clayton Heights and the border of Great Horton Road and Cooper Lane.
A spokesman said someone recently reported seeing a man trying door handles.
"The man was arrested and found in possession of an items stolen from a motor vehicle. However, the man did not break into vehicles; he tried door handles until he found vehicles left insecure," said the spokesman.
"Please remember to remove all valuables from your vehicle and do not leave items on show.
"Take the sat nav cradle from the windscreen or dashboard and remove signs of use as criminals will look for these items.
"If you do see any suspicious behaviour in your area please report it."
