WOMEN of different faiths have teamed up to create food hampers for families in need this Christmas.
Kind-hearted volunteers at the Khidmat Centre packed and distributed the parcels to 25 Christian refugee and asylum seeker families who come from the Democratic Republic of Congo and will be spending Christmas Day in Bradford.
The aim of the project is to help parents and children enjoy a festive celebration together in their new homes.
The initiative is supported by women from Shree Prajapati Samaj, Yorkshire Sikh Forum, South Asian Christian community and Islami Markaz as part of a programme of interfaith activities.
Centre is also hosting a Christmas Dinner for Christians living alone on Christmas Day.
Businesses that have sponsored the event include J.W. Young butchers and MYLahore restaurant who will cook the traditional Christmas Dinner.
