PASSENGERS and staff have been evacuated from Leeds-Bradford Airport after a fire alarm was set off accidentally.
It happened shortly after 8am today, December 15.
Firefighters from Rawdon were at the scene but declared it a false fire alarm.
Leeds councillor Ryan Stephenson (Harewood, Cons) tweeted: "Leeds & Bradford Airport evacuated due to fire alarm just now. Impressively quick response by staff coordinating. Fire brigade on scene."
A Leeds-Bradford Airport spokesperson said: "We can confirm that at 08:19am the terminal was evacuated after one of the emergency fire alarms was set off accidentally.
"Following a full evacuation, passengers were allowed back into the terminal at 08:40am. The airport is open and fully operational."
