BUDDING young musicians have had a taste of the music industry at this year's Rock School.

The half-term programme runs at Factory Street Studios, Dudley Hill, where professionals have been on hand to help the youngsters form bands, rehearse, lay down a track in a recording studio and perform in front of friends and family.

It's all with the aim of helping them develop confidence, build self-esteem and forge new friendships.

The pupils also design a marketing campaign to promote their work and finish the week with a professionally recorded CD and a live gig experience on Friday.

Studio volunteer Simon Slater said: "It has been going really well.

"The kids love that they are getting to play music together and they are learning about all different aspects of music. They are really looking forward to the performance - it's just to show how much they have done over the week."

Previous Rock Schoolers “Thirteen16” formed at Rock School went on to play Bingley Music Live festival and others.
