FAMILY ‘hacking’ sessions, retro gaming and even computer-themed knitting events are on offer as the district celebrates Europe Code Week.
Bradford is one of eight places in England participating in the Europe-wide initiative, which begins on Saturday and, despite its name, lasts a fortnight.
On Wednesday, the National Science and Media Museum and coding experts from Impact Gamers will stage an event in which the audience gets to tell a story using code. Places are free but must be booked in advance.
That evening, there will also be a Family Hack Jam at Green Lane Primary School, where parents and children can try out coding for themselves.
On Thursday, October 12, Keighley College will be dusting off some Commodore 64s and ZX Spectrums to give people a taste of the coding culture of the 1980s.
And Shipley College is putting on three events for Code Week, including one exploring the similarities between knitting and coding.
