Bradford police's specialist 'quad squad' is to step up patrols in Thornton after receiving a number of calls about anti-social bike riding.

The team said it is "committed" to attending and dealing with as many incidents as possible and urged people to contact officers with any information that could help.

"We understand the misery such activities can have on neighbourhoods as well as local communities," said PC Hudson.

"Not forgetting the dangers they pose to law abiding motorists.

"Please contact the bike team with any information that will help them to help you."

Meanwhile, the pictured moped was seized by officers from the bike team on Sunday.

A number of reports were made to the team regarding the illegal use of the bike in the Thornton village area.

Police said: "With the help of the public, the officers from the team were able to check a local address in the Thornton area and located the bike in question.

"It was seized for document offences and to prevent further misuse.

"The owner has been served with notification to identify the rider within 28 days.

"Failure to comply with this requirement will result in a summons to Court."
