THE list of current and former Bradford Bulls players, coaches and staff claiming against the club can be revealed by the Telegraph & Argus.

The 46 individuals have made claims regarding unpaid wages, holiday pay, notice pay, and potential statutory redundancy payments.

The claims are against the club’s old owners Bradford Bulls Northern Limited, which went into liquidation in January, the Rugby Football League, Bradford Bulls 2017 Limited, which owns the new club, and the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

Of the claimants, 14 are current Bulls players, and ten have moved on from the Bulls. Former coach Rohan Smith his former assistant Chev Walker are also on the list.

Current players on the claimant list are James Bentley, Omari Caro, Dane Chisholm, Vila Halafihi, Joseph Keyes, Liam Kirk, Joe Lumb, Iliess Macani, Jonathan Magrin, James Mendeika, Ross Oakes, Colton Roche, Ethan Ryan, and Oscar Thomas.

The former Bulls players named are lead claimant Adam Sidlow, who currently plays for Toronto Wolfpack, Leigh Centurions pair Lachlan Burr and James Clare, Castleford Tigers’ Alex Foster, Workington Town’s Phil Joseph, Hull Kingston Rovers duo Ben Kavanagh and Keiren Moss, Huddersfield Giants pair Alex Mellor and Adam O’Brien, and Tom Olbison, who now plays for Widnes Vikings.

The remaining 20 claimants are current or former non-playing Bulls staff.

The claims were first heard at an employment tribunal hearing last week in Leeds, where the RFL unsuccessfully attempted to have 39 of the cases struck off for non-compliance with the ACAS Early Conciliation Process, which is a way to try to reach a settlement quickly with employers, if an agreement cannot be agreed directly with an employer.

The attempt by the RFL was dismissed by Employment Judge David Jones at the end of the four hour hearing, which was attended by representatives of the claimants and all four respondents. Lead claimant Mr Sidlow, 29, was also in attendance.

A seven day tribunal hearing is scheduled to take place in Leeds in January 2018.

A RFL spokesman said: “We will continue to deny the claims against the Rugby Football League and strongly defend our position during this case.”
