A SUPER-COUNCIL for West Yorkshire is looking for a new leader after its chairman stepped down.
Councillor Peter Box, leader of Wakefield Council, is ending his three-year tenure as chairman of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority after being appointed to lead Key Cities, an organisation which represents a group of 21 UK mid-sized cities including Bradford.
He said this new role “is going to require a significant amount of my time and attention and given I have also always thought the role of chair of our Combined Authority should revolve every two to three years, I have decided to step aside from the chair of the Combined Authority”.
He said another West Yorkshire council leader would now take up the role.
